The Los Angeles Clippers will take on the Golden State Warriors tonight despite the heated controversy surrounding Clippers owner Donald Sterling, who allegedly made racist remarks that were released in an audio file over the weekend.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers said that he just wants his players to be in the right place mentally.

“I’ll go down and say hi to them and talk to them, make sure they’re in the right place. Right now it’s more than basketball. This is a non-basketball decision that I thought I had to make and I thought it was right decision. If you get your life better, then you can probably do your work better. They need to do that.”

“What other players are going through `Should I be playing’ thoughts in the middle of a playoff series?” Rivers continued. “I sympathize for my players. They didn’t sign on for this. Yet here they are and they’re in the middle of it and they have to deal with it. They didn’t do anything wrong and they’re in the middle of it, and they didn’t ask to be. I feel terrible for them. I’m going to try to do whatever I can to make them OK.”
