Devin Booker reportedly ‘happy’ with Suns amid reports he wants out of Phoenix

The NBA offseason is now in full swing, which has pushed forward the rumor mill around the league. One of the most significant discussions has been around All-Star guard Devin Booker possibly wanting out from the Phoenix Suns.

The potential scenario was quickly shot down on Twitter by Josh Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM voicing that this notion was simply not true.

“This is 100% NOT TRUE. Book is happy in Phoenix, excited for the season, loves how they finished in the bubble, excited about free agency. Not one time has he ever told anyone he wanted out. Don’t listen to this garbage.”

The origin of this sentiment stemmed from Ryen Russillo stating on a recent episode of a Ringer podcast with Bill Simmons that Booker wanting out of Phoenix was the “worst kept secret in the NBA.”

There hadn’t been any previous indication that Booker wanted to leave the Suns. He’s currently in the second year of his five-year, $158.3 million deal that runs through the 2023-24 campaign. Booker has become the face of the franchise as the focal point of their young core group.

The 24-year-old has developed into one of the league’s best young talents, which he’s coming off averaging a career-high 26.6 points on 48.9 percent shooting from the floor with 6.5 assists. All that helped him earn his first All-Star selection, which further cements his status in the league.

Until there is further reporting from other sources that Devin Booker wants outs, he will remain the centerpiece to the Suns’ long-term future.
