Giannis Antetokounmpo admits he’s open to playing for the Bulls

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the league’s best players and the face of the franchise for the Milwaukee Bucks.

However, that didn’t stop him from stirring the pot a bit in a recent interview by suggesting that he could play for the Chicago Bulls later in his career.

“I think anybody you ask that question that plays basketball, if he said no, he’d be a liar,” Antetokounmpo said in the interview with Fox 32 Chicago. “It’s a team that won multiple championships; it’s a team that one of the greatest players, if not the greatest player to ever play this game, played for. So it’s a no-brainer; everybody would love to play for Chicago.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently in the second year of his five-year, $228.2 million max contract that holds a $51.9 million player option for the final year in the 2025-26 campaign. If he were to play out the deal, he would be only 31 years old, where he could easily command another massive max contract from the Bucks or another franchise.

This isn’t the first time that he has made comments suggesting that he could play for another team after his contract with the Bucks. Milwaukee likely isn’t flinching at his remarks, but rather, it only further heightens the importance of continuing to build a championship-caliber team around their star forward.

The 27-year-old is in the prime of his career, eyeing to add several more NBA titles to his resume. If another team such as the Bulls could provide that opportunity to him down the road, a move out of Milwaukee could be possible.
