Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is having ‘best camp’ yet with Dallas

A year into his four-year, $160 million extension, the spotlight is intensely on Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescot. The expectations are high: lead the franchise toward Super Bowl contention.

Prescott has moved through the offseason and training camp without much of a hitch. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones has upped the hype around Prescott by voicing that he believes the 29-year-old is putting together his best training camp.

“I thought he’s had his best camp that I’ve seen him have since he’s been a Cowboy,” Jones said, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. “Velocity, his accuracy, the whole thing. Obviously, as the quarterbacks get older, they get better. The good ones do. They get better every year. There’s no question in my mind, I think he’s had his best training camp he’s ever had.”

Prescott helped guide the Cowboys back to the playoffs for the first time in three years behind winning the NFC East with a 12-5 record. However, Dallas fell disappointingly short at home in the wild-card round against the San Francisco 49ers.

Since then, Prescott has shouldered significant blame for the team’s playoff shortcomings. Especially after his decision to slide on the final play of regulation. It overshadowed another highly productive campaign, where he threw a career-high 37 touchdowns along with 4,449 passing yards and a 68.8% completion rate.

Prescott will have his hands full to begin the 2022 campaign as the team is dealing with injuries to the receiving core. If the Cowboys hope to contend for a Super Bowl, their star quarterback must lead the way.
