Suns star Devin Booker says it’s ‘exciting time’ in Phoenix after Kevin Durant trade
The Phoenix Suns shook the course of the NBA after trading for star forward Kevin Durant.
The two-time NBA Finals MVP’s arrival has quickly pushed the Suns into the championship contention picture. Star guard Devin Booker underlined the excitement of having Durant on board in Phoenix.
“You can’t put it into words, man,” Booker said after Tuesday’s shootaround via ESPN. “It’s just all feeling. Looking forward to post-All-Star break when we actually get the chance to compete with each other. I’ve never gotten to do that besides the Olympics with Kev, so it’s exciting times around here.”

Durant remains one of the league’s top players behind his elite scoring averaging 29.7 points on a career-best 55.9 percent shooting from the floor and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc. The 34-year-old has shown he has plenty left in the tank to maintain his high level of play.
The only lingering issue for Durant has been injuries over the last couple of years. He’s currently sidelined with an MCL injury in his right knee that has kept him off the floor since Jan. 8.

Durant continues to ramp up his recovery, going through various shooting drills. Head coach Monty Williams voiced that the star forward is progressing well despite not yet participating in 3-on-3 or 5-on-5 drills in any scrimmages.
Durant will likely make his return shortly after the upcoming All-Star break. Beyond that, the Suns hold a promising opportunity to contend for the 2023 NBA title with one of the game’s greatest talents in the fold.
