Team USA ‘aggressively’ pursuing Jrue Holiday to add to squad
Ever since Team USA finished fourth place during the FIBA World Cup, there’s been a buzz about the team. What players might be willing to commit to the squad ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France?
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has teased potentially committing to Team USA once again. Although, there’s only been a handful of players that have been adamant about playing next summer. Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid are the only players thus far to commit.

However, Steve Kerr wants to recruit one of the NBA’s best two-way players in the form of Boston’s Jrue Holiday. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Kerr and his coaching staff will aggressively pursue Holiday.
USA Basketball is aggressively pursuing Boston Celtics All-Star guard Jrue Holiday to return to Team USA for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, sources told ESPN.
This seems like a smart move for Team USA. There’s no doubt they’ll have offensive firepower, with players like Curry and Durant ready to represent their country.

Interestingly enough, Team USA won’t be extending invitations to some players who have expressed an interest.
The 2024 Olympic team is expected to include such future Hall of Famers as LeBron James, Durant, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid and Jayson Tatum, but some of the All-Stars who publicly volunteered recently that they plan to play for Team USA won’t be extended invitations. There’s no timetable on a Holiday decision, but Hill and coach Steve Kerr have put a premium on the combination of Holiday’s talent and temperament as a necessary component to build a gold-medal roster, sources said.
Clearly, the names of the players who won’t be invited haven’t been revealed, but it’ll be interesting to see who they are when the time comes.
