Victor Oladipo Has Heat ‘No. 1 on His List’ if He Leaves Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are a talented team on the rise with a potentially bright future ahead. However, it remains to be seen whether star guard Victor Oladipo will be a part of that future.

Oladipo is still a year away from officially hitting NBA free agency. However, the decision time is now as he could easily leave the team without a deal when the time comes. Indiana, however, could choose to trade Oladipo if the writing is on the wall, but in the meantime, he wants a deal or he’ll try to sign with the Miami Heat, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

A source said Oladipo likes Indiana and would be happy staying there with a big new contract, but that if he were to leave, Miami would be No. 1 on his list.

But Heat interest will depend entirely on how he plays next season and Miami’s success in trying to lure a bigger fish.

Despite the fact that Oladipo showed signs of decline this past season, he is still a hot commodity in the NBA and would be a valuable addition for many teams that will almost certainly show interest in him.

In 19 games last season, Victor Oladipo averaged 14.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. These aren’t great numbers, but it is a small sample size due to the lack of games played.

It’ll be interesting to see how this situation in Indiana develops and what the future holds for the 28-year-old guard.
