College Football: ACC Preview Week Nine

There has already been one ACC game played this week as Clemson stomped Wake Forest on Thursday night 42-13. The win puts Clemson in a first place tie with Florida State at 7-1, 41 in the Atlantic Division. If you think, well Florida State beat Clemson so they’ve got the ties-breaker, wait a second. North Carolina State also has only one loss in the Atlantic Division. They have a win over FSU. Maryland also only has one loss, but we all know that won’t be for long.

Today, Florida State hosts Coastal Division leading Duke. The Blued Devils are 6-2, 3-1. Although they are not likely to stay on top of the ACC Coastal standings, Duke is bowl eligible already and that is huge for them. Miami, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Virginia Tech are all right behind Duke with two ACC losses. Miami is off this week. They will host Virgina Tech on Thursday who is also off this week. The winner of that game probably takes control of the Coastal Division. North Carolina hosts North Carolina State in a big game today. Georgia Tech is going non-conference today hosting Brigham Young. Here are some Odds on this week’s games:

Justbet has Duke +27.5 -110. FSU is -27.5 -110. Over/under is 55.5. We think the Blue Devils can hang within 27.5. We like Duke +27.5.

Maryland at Boston College– Maryland is +2.5 -105 or +120. BC is -2.5 -115 or -140. We’re not sure why BC would be favored over anybody. We like Maryland at +120.

NC State at North Carolina- N.C. State is +7 -110 or +230. UNC is -7 -110 or -270. We think this one will be much closer than this. We like N.C. State +7.

BYU at Georgia Tech- BYU is +2 -110 or +110. Georgia Tech is -2 -110 or -130. We like Tech at home. That wishbone running attack can be tough to to stop for teams that haven’t seen it before. We like Tech -2.
