49ers’ Nick Bosa wants to make Packers’ Aaron Rodgers ‘uncomfortable’ in Week 3

The San Francisco 49ers have raced out to a strong 2-0 start to begin the 2021 season.

It’s set up a primetime matchup in Week 3 action against the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers bounced back in Week 2 against the Lions after a disappointing lopsided loss in the season opener against the New Orleans Saints.

Days before the matchup, 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa voiced that he’s hopeful his team can make Rodgers uncomfortable.

“We just want to get off to a good start and have him feel the pressure overall,” Bosa said, via Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area. “In 2019 obviously, we made him uncomfortable. If he’s comfortable, it’s going to be a long day for anybody.

“So we’re just trying to close the pocket on him and make him get off his normal routine, drop and then once you start taking him down you just want to make him pick himself up as many times as you can.”

The 49ers hold previous success against Rodgers as they topped the Packers twice in the 2019 season. The first occurred in the 37-8 convincing win in the regular season, where he was sacked five times. San Francisco followed it by securing a Super Bowl berth after the 37-20 win in the NFC championship game.

If the 49ers hope to pull out another win over Rodgers, it will need to create consistent pressure on the star quarterback. Beyond that, the table is set for an entertaining Week 3 matchup.
