“I’ve been preparing for this moment for a long time,” Fields said via ESPN. “My mindset doesn’t change. I’m still going to have to play my football and just prepare the best I can. Like I said before, get a lot of practice reps and study, study, study, and get more comfortable and confident with the plays and stuff like that.”

The Bears will likely put a structured game plan ahead for Fields to ease the pressure off his shoulders. At the same time, he’s shown flashes of promise, especially behind his play in the preseason.

Fields open up the playbook for the Bears as he offers another element with his mobility that will allow him to be a factor in the running game.
