Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky in ‘really good’ place ‘mentally’ says Matt Nagy
The Chicago Bears are a team that has been going back and forth for the last couple of years. The side is lingering there or thereabouts, flirting with title contention in the NFC. Chicago has talent on both sides of the football. Although the main concern has been offensively at the quarterback position. The team’s failure to compete has resulted in a lot of questions on whether Mitchell Trubisky is the right man.

During the NFL offseason, the Bears addressed the issue at the quarterback position by bringing in some insurance. As well as that, it got a player that can compete with Trubisky to either push him or ultimately take his job as the starter under center. Chicago traded for former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles in a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars and with the season approaching, head coach Matt Nagy gave an update on how Trubisky is handling the competition at quarterback, via
“Whatever he’s doing, there’s just a great intention for him right now to play quarterback the best that he can and not worry about anything else,†Nagy said. “Mitch right now is in a place mentally that I really just feel like is really good. I like where he’s at.â€

As of right now, there is an open competition for the starting job in Chicago. Nagy has made that abundantly clear. As if the trade for the one-time Super Bowl champion didn’t already signal the potential change.
Whether Trubisky is truly up for the challenge of competing with a player that has proven to be a winner with the Philadelphia Eagles remains to be seen. If he’s not up for the challenge, he may quickly see his days as a starter in the NFL come to an end sooner rather than later.
