Brandon Aiyuk Sends Message to NFL Teams as 49ers Split Looms
The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk may finally be headed toward a divorce.
After a much longer period of uncertainty, Aiyuk appears to finally be on his way out, according to Anthony Slater of ESPN.
Though there are still obstacles to work through, the San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk finally appear headed toward a resolution to their tumultuous relationship.
Aiyuk made the following statement about his situation with the 49ers, as he claims to be healthy and ready to play once he’s given a chance to suit up with another team.
“I’m feeling great, feeling healthy,” Aiyuk said. “It was a long recovery process, a long rehab process, but I’m back to 100% and looking to get reinstated to the National Football League.”
The veteran wide receiver hasn’t played since tearing his ACL, MCL and meniscus in his right knee more than two years ago on Oct. 20, 2024, against the Kansas City Chiefs.
At this point in time, it’s uncertain what Aiyuk might have left in the tank after such a long time away from the game.

Despite the two-year absence, Aiyuk is only 28 years old and might be able to play an important role for a team in the second half of the 2026 NFL season, but it remains to be seen if a team is willing to take a chance on him.
There are plenty of teams around the league that could use some help at the wide receiver position.
