Broncos make adjustments to Courtland Sutton’s contract
Throughout much of the offseason, the Denver Broncos had star wide receiver Courtland Sutton’s contract situation.
However, it appears issues on that front have finally been resolved. The Broncos have adjusted his contract to add $1.5 million in incentives to his $13 million base salary.

That is in addition to the $500,000 in roster bonuses. Meanwhile, $2 million of his salary for next season is already guaranteed.
“[Broncos general manager George Payton and Sutton’s representatives] spent a lot of time in the summer, just discussing it,” Payton said via ESPN. “… It’s good to have him back out here. He provides leadership as well as a skill set that we like.”
He’s heading into the third year of his four-year, $60.8 million deal that will pay him roughly $17.8 million in 2025.

The Broncos’ commitment to Sutton underlines that he remains a key piece to the offensive puzzle. The 28-year-old is coming off another productive campaign, where he led the team with 59 receptions and 772 receiving yards along with posting 10 receiving touchdowns.
Although his production isn’t top-tier level, he has been a constant factor, but he hasn’t broken over 1,000 receiving yards in a single campaign since his career-high 1,112 receiving yards in his second season in 2019.
Denver hopes that the quarterback change will help him elevate himself back to posting clear-cut top wideout production. His play next season will be crucial if he wants to earn a lucrative payday in his next contract.
