Derrick Henry determined to prove his worth to Ravens
For the first time in his career, Derrick Henry will don another NFL jersey aside from the Tennessee Titans. Henry is set to play his first year with the Baltimore Ravens after signing a two-year, $16 million deal in free agency. He will have no shortage of motivation to put forth another stellar campaign. Much of that stems from the talk around his age, turning 30 in January. He’s ready to dispel any of the chatter that his production may begin to decline.

“That’s always going to be said when a running back gets up in age, the stigma on the position,” Henry said via ESPN. “But I just focus on me being healthy, doing my job when I’m here and then let my play speak for my age.”
Over the last 10 years, only three running backs at age 30 or older have recorded a 1,000-rushing-yard campaign. This was accomplished by Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore, and Raheem Mostert.

Henry has proven that he remains a highly reliable asset in the running after finishing second in the league with 1,167 rushing yards, along with 12 rushing touchdowns. It marked the fifth time in the last six seasons that he has posted at least 1,000 rushing yards, so the Ravens haven’t signed a crock.
The Pro Bowler will have plenty of opportunities to keep that trend going, especially in the Ravens’ run-first offense led by reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson.
Henry has the opportunity to showcase that he is still one of the league’s best offensive talents.
