Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of criminal trespass after a couple reported he came into their suburban house uninvited and sat down on their couch “mumbling incoherently,” according to court records.

Kelly was reportedly inside a couple’s home in Englewood, Colorado, where he reportedly entered looking to be incoherent. It appeared that he had left a Halloween party held by teammate Von Miller.

A male in that household struck him with a vacuum tube to get him out of the home. He then left after being chased out. He was later apprehended by law enforcement. Kelly was found inside a black SUV not far from the house that he had entered.

Following his arrest, there was no alcohol or drug test carried out on Kelly. He is due back in court on Wednesday.

The Broncos have already voiced that they will handle the situation in an orderly matter and that they did by releasing him.

Kelly was taken with the final pick of the 2017 NFL Draft and is serving as the backup to Case Keenum this season after missing all of last season due to injury. He is also the nephew of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.
