Chad Johnson Trying To Get A Job With The Cleveland Browns

Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson is desperate to get back in the league in one way or another. After a short stint with the New England Patriots in 2011, Johnson’s career took a nosedive with no teams willing to take a chance on him.

With Johnson being out of the league for five years, the 38-year-old is hoping to transition to a coaching role. Johnson has reportedly been trying to get the opportunity from the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Hue Jackson. Johnson has been attempting to convince Jackson through Twitter, according to Zac Johnson of Pro Football Talk:

Retired wide receiver Chad Johnson is going the Twitter route to ask longtime friend Hue Jackson if he can help Jackson’s new team, the Browns.

Johnson tweeted the following on Monday about his intention to reach out to Jackson about potentially working with the team’s wide receivers:

It’ll be interesting if Jackson actually takes a flyer on Johnson. During Johnson’s playing days the wideout was among the best in the league at his position. Johnson was incredibly tough to defend, and his knowledge could prove to be very useful for a struggling franchise like the Browns.

Although Jackson’s hiring has been praised and a considerable step forward for Cleveland, the Browns are still expected to struggle next season with many believing they could be the worst team in football yet again. Taking a chance on Johnson could be low risk, high reward.
