Chicago Bears are expressing interest in Nick Foles

Since the conclusion of the 2019 season, the Chicago Bears have voiced their continued commitment to quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

However, their actions on Monday has proven otherwise as the team has reportedly reached out to the Jacksonville Jaguars concerning a possible trade for quarterback Nick Foles, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

As the Bears talk to Teddy Bridgewater about a starting job, they’re talking to the Jaguars about Nick Foles.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bears have reached out about the Super Bowl LII MVP.

The Jaguars have entirely shifted over from Foles in less than a season, moving forward with second-year quarterback Gardner Minshew as their future under center. The former Super Bowl 52 MVP is entering the second year of his four-year, $88 million deal.

A move to the Bears would provide Foles with the chance to garner the starting job without any hesitation. The Bears have quickly fallen out of faith with Trubisky has he has struggled tremendously in his first three years to push forward in the right direction finally.

The North Carolina product is heading into the final year of his rookie deal that does contain a fifth-year option. The Bears have yet to decide on that at this point in the offseason. Foles has proven himself on the grandest stage as he guided the Eagles to a Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots.

Although he has had his struggles with health over the last couple of years, he would provide Chicago an upgrade over Trubisky.
