Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has ‘a chance’ to play vs. Bears
The Washington Commanders have been one of the surprise teams in the NFL during the 2024 campaign, with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels putting on a show ever since he touched the field on the professional level. The storied franchise is currently sitting atop the NFC East division and has a good chance of making a deep run in the NFL playoffs if they can continue to play at a high level moving forward.
Unfortunately, last week, Daniels went down with a rib injury in the win over the Carolina Panthers, which was a concern as he didn’t return to the game, and no one knew the severity of the injury.

However, it appears the rib injury is far from serious, and the rookie leader under center has a chance to play in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears in a highly anticipated showdown with fellow rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, according to John Keim of ESPN.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was limited in practice Friday after not practicing the previous two days, but there’s still a chance he plays Sunday vs. the Chicago Bears.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn discussed the possibility of Daniels taking the field on Sunday via ESPN.
“He really pushed it today,” Washington coach Dan Quinn said. “We’ll let our eyes decide how he responds over the next 48 hours. That’ll guide us and we’ll make the best decision for him and the team.”
Daniels wants to play a game on Sunday that everyone will be talking about due to the rookie matchup.
“I want to play but it’s not my decision,” he said “It feels better, but I’ve still got some time. I’ve still got some marks I need to hit so they feel comfortable putting me out there.”
If Daniels can get back on the field, the Commanders have a great chance of coming out on top in this NFC heavyweight battle at Northwest Stadium in the nation’s capital.
