Dak Prescott expected to be ready for Cowboys training camp

Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott recently suffered a minor right foot sprain, which required him to wear a walking boot temporarily.

This news comes after Prescott was seen with a walking boot during a vacation in Cabo San Lucas last week. Despite that, the injury reportedly won’t affect the Pro Bowler’s availability for training camp later this month on July 25.

Nonetheless, the Cowboys will monitor the situation as he remains a key part of their success in 2024. He is heading into the final year of his four-year, $160 million deal without any clarity of his future beyond that.

Prescott is coming off another highly productive campaign, where he led the league with 36 touchdown passes, third with 4,516 passing yards, and second with a 72.7 quarterback rating.

The Cowboys are coming off their second NFC East division title in the last three seasons but fell to their second wild card playoff exit over that span.

Although Dallas hasn’t moved toward securing a new deal with Prescott, he said back in May that he isn’t concerned about his contract situation.

“I don’t play for money. Never have never cared for it, to be honest with you, yeah,” Prescott said via ESPN. “Would give it up just to play this game. So, I allow that to the business people to say what it’s worth, what they’re supposed to give a quarterback of my play, a person of my play, a leader of my play. For me, it’s about, as I said, control what I can control and handle that part and the rest will take care of itself.”
