Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller is set to play his first season with the New York Giants.
After spending the last five years with the Las Vegas Raiders, Waller has quickly noticed a significant difference with the Giants.

“Yeah, they value our opinions here,” Waller said Thursday after standing out in the Giants’ third OTA workout this spring via ESPN. “As a player, I feel like a lot of places I’ve gone, you’re told to do things a certain way and you do those things. But here it’s like, they ask a lot of questions. They want to know what you’re thinking, what you want to do more.
“So to offer input is a really cool thing because coaches and players have to be in partnership. We’re all together and shouldn’t be clashing with each other. We’re all going in the same direction.”
The change of scenery has presented a fresh new opportunity for the star tight end to shine. Waller was a primary piece of the puzzle with the Raiders. However the expansion of his role beyond the field could take his play to another level.

When healthy, he’s proven to be one of the game’s top tight ends behind back-to-back 1,000-receiving yard campaigns in 2019 and 2020. Since then, he’s struggled to stay on the field, missing 13 games over the last two seasons.
The Giants will feature Waller heavily in the passing game. This could see him recapture his Pro Bowl form while helping push the franchise toward another playoff berth.
