Eagles star Jason Peters hopes to play into his 40s

Although the shelf life of an NFL player doesn’t often veer into their 40s, there have been several notable players to head that route. Former Eagles OT Jason Peters hopes to be one of them.

Another star talent is hoping to add his name to that list in free agent offensive tackle Jason Peters, who recently voiced that he believes he can play into his 40s. (H/T Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk)

“If Tom Brady can play into his 40s, I can play into my 40s. I feel great,” Peters has told friends, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Peters has continued to prove to be an ageless talent, but injuries have continued to pile up over the last couple of years. Although his time with the Philadelphia Eagles looks to have come to an end after 11 seasons, he has shown he has plenty left in the tank to play at a high level.

Peters is in the back end of his career, which may see a lack of interest in his services due to his age and health issues. There are a few teams such as the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, and Denver Broncos, all mentioned as potential landing spots.

There is no guarantee that he will get an opportunity to extend his career beyond the 2020 season, but if he gets a chance to sign a new deal that will present him a situation to prove himself. Peters has a decorated career with nine Pro Bowl selections, two First-Team All-Pro nods, and four Second-Team All-Pro nominations.
