Falcons WR Julio Jones returns to practice, ‘appears’ ready to face Cowboys
The Atlanta Falcons are heading into a statement game in Week 10 with the defending NFC champions set to square off against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys.
The main concern for the Falcons leading up to this matchup between NFC heavyweights was the health of star wide receiver, Julio Jones. The perennial Pro Bowler is dealing with an ankle issue that put his playing status in doubt for Sunday, but it appears he may be good to go for the clash with the Cowboys, according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones returned to practice Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday with an ankle injury, and he appears ready to play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Jones suffered the ankle injury in last week’s loss to the division rival Carolina Panthers. Although considered to be one of the elite receivers in the league, Jones has dealt with a lot of injury issues throughout his career making him a question mark on Sunday on more than one occasion.
Both the Falcons and Cowboys are trying to keep up with the conference-leading Philadelphia Eagles who have been the hottest team in the NFL thus far with an 8-1 record. These two teams play in arguably some of the toughest divisions in football this season with the New Orleans Saints leading the way in the NFC South while the Eagles lead the charge in the NFC East.
It might be safe to say at this point that the NFC representative in the Super Bowl will likely come out on of one of these divisions.
