“I just felt like it was a great fit for me. Aaron, I want to be able to play with him, pick his brain, learn from him,” he said Wednesday, explaining why he wanted to play for the Jets via ESPN. “Playing alongside Garrett [Wilson], he kind of reminds me of Keenan [Allen] a little bit. Similar style play, great route runners, and I feel like we can complement each other in that area. The running game is pretty good. Defense is elite, so I just feel like we got a pretty good opportunity ahead of us.”

Williams adds another proven element to the Jets’ passing attack as he and Garrett Wilson could form one of the league’s most formidable duos. He’s coming off another season cut short due to an ACL injury as he played in only three games where he tallied 19 catches for 249 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Williams voiced that he’s on pace to return before the start of the 2024 season. However, did note that he is unsure if he will be able to participate in training camp in July.

Nonetheless, Williams could be in store for a bounce-back campaign in New York.
