Former Patriots star Josh Gordon’s Super Bowl ring to be sold

It has been nothing short than a rough last several months for Josh Gordon as he has struggled to stay in the league. Things have taken another intriguing turn as Gordon has decided to put his Super Bowl ring with the Patriots up for auction, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

Suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon’s Super Bowl ring will be sold at an upcoming memorabilia auction.

Gordon, who received a ring from the Patriots after they won Super Bowl LIII, has placed the ring with Heritage Auctions for its memorabilia auction in August.

It comes at quite an interesting time in his career as he’s still on the outside looking with a suspension. Gordon’s decision likely occurred due to the need to garner a bit more cash, especially after the latest league punishment has put him out of the opportunity to garner a lucrative deal.

The former Pro Bowl has remained strong in his desire to continue his NFL career. That is especially the case with the league adjusting their rules on marijuana. If the new standards were in place before, he would not have been suspended last season.

Gordon has shown that he is still a dynamic playmaker in the passing game. He has big-play ability along with the size and strength to make him a stable and reliable asset in the red zone. If he can get clearance from the league, several teams will be looking to bring him starting with the Seahawks.

Ultimately, Gordon’s NFL future is out fo his hands entirely.
