Jalen Hurts says ‘winning’ is the ‘main thing’ with the Eagles
After stumbling to a disappointing wildcard round playoff exit, the Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts has increased scrutiny around him.
Hurts’ struggles over the second half of the 2023 season and into the playoffs have put more pressure on him to guide the Eagles back on track in 2024. During ESPN’s “The Bird-Taurasi Show” broadcast during the Women’s College Basketball National Championship game, Hurts voiced the importance of putting Philadelphia in the position to win championships.

“I think there is something to winning championships,” Hurts said. “I think your talent dictates how many you need to win, but championships are all about winning. That’s always the main thing. That is what everybody competes and works for.”
Hurts and the Eagles entered last season with all the praise and expectation of returning to the Super Bowl after falling just short against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Philadelphia looked poised to make another deep playoff run after starting the year with a 10-1 record. However, everything went downhill from that point on. The Eagles won just one game over that span, and their season ended with a playoff blowout loss on their home field against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hurts will be the central focus as the Eagles look to re-establish their offensive identity. The Pro Bowl quarterback will need to be the driving catalyst toward putting the franchise back in the right direction.
The table is set for Hurts to push the Eagles back on track as a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
