Ja’Marr Chase Sends Clear Message After Frightening Bengals Injury Scare

The Cincinnati Bengals experienced a near scare on Tuesday after star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase exited practice with a left leg injury.

The All-Pro wideout was attempting to catch a deep pass down the sideline when he stumbled and stepped awkwardly on his left foot, causing his knee to buckle. Chase went down immediately but was able to walk off the field under his own power.

He was examined by the team’s medical staff before he returned to the sidelines to watch the rest of the practice.

The initial fear was that he suffered a significant injury, but it’s believed that he is dealing with a hyperextension in his left knee. After practice, Chase said he was fine and wanted to continue practicing despite the injury.

“I was trying to go practice today,” Chase said via ESPN. “I was trying to get back in, y’all. I promise.”

The Bengals are breathing a huge sigh of relief, as it could have been a far worse result. He avoided a significant injury, which should see Cincinnati operate with plenty of caution, especially with the start of the 2026 regular season around two weeks away.

Chase is expected to play a huge part in the offensive game plan, as he and quarterback Joe Burrow are focal points in the passing game. Chase is one of the league’s best wide receivers and should be poised for another dominant campaign that further cements his status as one of the premier offensive talents.
