Jets sign four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook
After a lot of speculation over the last few months, star running back Dalvin Cook, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, appears to have found his new home with the Jets.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Cook plans to sign a one-year deal with the New York Jets.
Free agent running back Dalvin Cook is planning to sign a one-year deal worth up to $8.6 million with the New York Jets, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday night.
When the Vikings suddenly released Cook in June after four straight Pro Bowl appearances, the consensus around the league seemed to be that it wouldn’t take long for him to find a new home in the league, as he’s arguably among the elite players at his position in the NFL.

The obvious choice seemed to be the Miami Dolphins, as it is his hometown team and a squad that could use a running back of his caliber coming out of the backfield to take some pressure off of star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Despite some talk of Cook eventually landing with the Dolphins, especially after leaving a visit with the Jets without a contract, Miami was never in the cards for the veteran back.

Now Cook joins a team that seems ready to compete for a Super Bowl title, with the team recently bringing in superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to join an already stacked team on both sides of the football.
It’ll be interesting to see what impact Cook has in New York and if he elevates them to another level during the 2023 NFL season.
