NFC North Standings: Bears in the Lead

The Lions won't have to worry about Brian Urlacher anymore

The Chicago Bears lead the NFC North after their win Sunday night over the Pittsburgh Steelers 40-23. They are 3-0 and lead the Detroit Lions by one game. The Lions are 2-1 after their win Sunday over the Washington Redskins 27-20. The Green Bay Packers are third at 1-2 following a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals 34-30. The Minnesota Vikings bring up the rear following a tough loss on Sunday to the Cleveland Browns 31-27.

The biggest surprise so far would have to be the 1-2 start of the Packers. Not too many were shocked when they lost on the road to the San Francisco 49ers in their opener, but after watching them struggle the past two games, that one looks like a game the Pack would like to have back. They get a week off this weekend before hosting the Lions a week from Sunday.

The Vikings will meet the Steelers in a battle of winless teams on Sunday in London. The soccer mad fans in London are likely chomping at the bit to watch this game between two bad teams. Last week went well for the Vikings at first when they took the opening kick and drove 80 yards on 11 plays for a 7-0 lead. But the Browns answered on a nice drive of their own. The game remained close throughout before the Browns won it on the third touchdown catch of the day from their tight end Jordan Cameron. The Steelers offense scored 23 points on the Bears, but also allowed the Bears to score 23 points off their turnovers.

The Lions and Bears will meet this week in Detroit in a game that has the lead on the line. Bovada has the Lions -3 EVEN and the Bears +3 -120 ATS. Over/Under is 47.5 with over and under both -110. We are a bit surprised that the Lions are favored in this game. The Bears have beaten three teams that were thought of as playoff contenders in the preseason by most. Yet, they are still an underdog to a Lions team with a loss to the Arizona Cardinals. We are going to take the Bears +3 and the over -110 on this one.

There is no line now on the Steelers-Vikings game. The line has been taken off which makes us think there may be a key injury or perhaps a change in starting quarterbacks. Keep checking with us for updates as the game nears.
