NFC North Week Six Preview

The standings after five weeks in the NFC North are upside down. Before the season started, the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions were probably the favorites to compete for the division championship and NFC playoff spots. Both made the playoffs a year ago. But as we look at the standings now, the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears are tied for first at 4-1 while the Packers are 2-3 and Lions are 1-3.

Christian Ponder, Percy Harvin and Adrian Peterson have been great for Minnesota so far. The Vikings have win s over the San Francisco 49ers, the Indianapolis Colts, the Jasksonvile Jaguars in a game the Jags took the lead with :20 seconds to go and the Lions on the road.

The Bears have routs over the Colts, the St. Louis Rams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Jaguars. They will take on the Lions this week.

Intertops has odds on this weeks NFC North games:

Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles– The Lions are +3.5 1.87 or 2.65. The Eagles are -3.5 1.95 or 1.53. Over/under is 47.5. The Eagles win games very close. 3.5 is a lot in an Eagles game. We like the Lions + 3.5.

Minnesota Vikings at Washington Redskins-  The Vikings are +1 1.91. The Redskins are -1 1.91. We like the Vikings in this one. Someday they will have the oddsmakers believing in them. Until then, make money on them.

Green Bay Packers at Houston Texans– Packers are +3.5 1.91 or 2.70. The Texans are -3.5 1.91 or 1.50. Over/under is 47.5. The unbeaten Texans are very good. But the packers are still a dangerous team. Now they are dangerous and getting a bit desperate. We like the Packers +3.5.
