NFL Week 10 odds: 5 underdogs worth betting on

It’s somehow already Week 10 of the 2020 NFL season, and we’re looking at five underdogs who are worth placing bets on this weekend.

5. Washington Football Team (+3.5) at Detroit Lions

Washington isn’t the better team here, and being on the road doesn’t help. However, the Football Team has a solid defense and the Lions haven’t looked consistently good at any point this season. Matthew Stafford has thrown seven interceptions and with Alex Smith now under center in Washington, it stands to reason Ron Rivera’s club will win the turnover battle. This should be within a field goal either way. Take the hook.

4. New York Giants (+3.5) vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Again, the half-point hook comes into play here. The Giants aren’t the better team, and with the Eagles coming off their bye week and getting healthier, the immediate thought is to bet on Philadelphia.

However, the earlier matchups between these two was a 22-21 Eagles win, and the Giants made a litany of errors which cost them the game. Carson Wentz has more turnovers than anybody in football. Philadelphia won’t pull away.

3. Denver Broncos (+4) at Las Vegas Raiders

Another divisional battle, and what should be a tight game. The Raiders are 5-3 and playing well this season, but the defense is a work in progress and the Broncos, at 3-5, have to win to stay alive in the AFC playoff picture. Denver is inferior but when these teams get together, the scores are low. Over the past six matchups, none have exceeded 41 total points. Tougher to cover four points that way.

2. San Francisco 49ers (+10) at New Orleans Saints

This is the second-biggest line of the week, and understandably so. The Saints are coming off perhaps the most impressive win of anybody’s campaign thus far, pasting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 38-3 rout on Sunday night. Now, they draw the injury-riddled 49ers. Still, New Orleans hasn’t blown teams out beyond Tampa. The Saints have won their other four games by 15 total points. The best of those teams are the Chicago Bears. Don’t expect a huge margin.

1. Cincinnati Bengals (+7.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers rarely win in a blowout. They’re 8-0 and yet the only double-digit wins came in Week 1 against the Giants and then in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, the Bengals have been in every game save for one beating at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. It wouldn’t be shocking if Cincinnati handed Pittsburgh its first loss, but even if it doesn’t, the take those points.
