NFL Week 14 schedule: 5 teams on upset alert

With a glance at the NFL Week 14 schedule, these five favorites are on upset alert as Sunday is fast approaching.

5. Tennessee Titans (-8.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars

After losing at home to the Houston Texans a few weeks ago, anything is on the table. While Tennessee is coming off its bye week, it is still without A.J. Brown and Derrick Henry, while Julio Jones has just returned to practice. The Titans could be missing their top three — and really, only three — weapons, limiting their ability to blow anybody out. Jacksonville is a terrible football team, but it’s a divisional game and the Jaguars actually have more talent on the offensive side.

4. Carolina Panthers (-2.5) vs. Atlanta Falcons

These are two evenly-matched teams in terms of talent, or the lack thereof. Carolina and Atlanta both have five wins and are trying to stay in the playoff race. Matt Ryan should be giving the Falcons a good chance to handle the Panthers, who are trying to win games with Cam Newton and/or P.J. Walker under center. Since starting 3-0, Carolina is 2-7. Atlanta isn’t a good team, but the Panthers have ben cratering for two months.

3. Cleveland Browns (-2.5) vs. Baltimore Ravens

This is going to be a fascinating game. The Ravens are 8-4 but coming of a crushing loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They’re also struggling to score points and stop anybody from throwing the ball over the last six weeks, which isn’t exactly a great combination going into the teeth of their schedule. However, the Browns are 6-6 and quarterback Baker Mayfield has been beat up for months. Did the bye week heal him, or is this the same team that lost to Baltimore two weeks ago despite Lamar Jackson throwing four interceptions?

2. San Francisco 49ers (-1.5) at Cincinnati Bengals

Why are the 49ers favored in this game? Cincinnati is 7-5 and at home with a better quarterback, while San Francisco is 6-6 and trying to come halfway across the country. Overall, at worst, the Bengals are an even matchup which would normally give the Bengals at least a three-point edge in the sports books. This tilt is the biggest toss-up of the week.

1. Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) at Washington Football Team

Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy is guaranteeing a victory. The Cowboys have won two of their past five games. Washington is at home and on a four-game win streak. With a win, the Football Team pulls within a game of Dallas in the NFC East. Expect a raucous atmosphere at FedEx Field this weekend.
