NFL Week 3 odds: 5 favorites to bet on come Sunday

The NFL Week 3 slate offers some solid favorites bets. Below we take a look at five favorites to bet in NFL Week 3.

5. Seattle Seahawks (-4.5)

The Seahawks are getting the benefit of playing Teddy Bridgewater instead of Drew Brees when the New Orleans Saints come to town on Sunday. With all due respect to Bridgewater — who is certainly one of the best backups in the league — his play is a significant step down from the future first-ballot Hall of Famer. Without Brees behind center, the Saints are going to struggle scoring many points in the Pacific Northwest.

4. Arizona Cardinals (-2)

Kyle Allen is starting for the Carolina Panthers. Carolina couldn’t win a home game in its first two shots with Cam Newton under center. Now, Allen steps into the Panthers’ first road game of the season, coming against Arizona and Kyler Murray. It’s hard to make a case for Carolina in this game. Murray has looked good early on, and the Cardinals have a solid pass rush. If Arizona can get out to a lead and force Allen into obvious passing situations, the Panthers are in tough shape.

3. New England Patriots (-21)

Yes, swallow three touchdowns. Ignore Antonio Brown being released on Friday afternoon. The Patriots are at home against the hapless and injured New York Jets. There’s literally no reason to think the Patriots, who have allowed a total of three points this season, are going to give up double-digits to Luke Falk and Co. New England should be able to move at will against the Jets defense, which is dealing with injuries to linebackers C.J. Mosley and Avery Williamson, and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. It’s a ton of points, but the Patriots will roll in epic fashion.

2. Dallas Cowboys (-22.5)

Again, the points are a ridiculous amount. It doesn’t matter. The Miami Dolphins are playing their first road game of the season, this after being beaten 59-10 by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, and then backing that up by getting pasted 43-0 by New England last Sunday. Now, the undefeated Cowboys welcome a horrendous Dolphins team into JerryWorld. There’s no shortage of reasons why the Cowboys should win by at least 30 points. Hell, Dallas could play its backups in the second half and cover.

1. Green Bay Packers (-7)

The Packers are hosting the Denver Broncos, and this line is about three points too low. The Broncos have done nothing offensively throughout the first two weeks, and now take on a defense which suddenly looks formidable. Green Bay held the Chicago Bears to three points in the season opener before limiting the Minnesota Vikings to 16 points. Denver’s defense should be solid on Sunday, but this has 20-10 written all over it.
