NFL Week 4: 5 teams in desperate need of a win

NFL Week 4 kicks of with the Packers VS the Eagles on Thursday night football. We take a look at 5 teams who must save their season in NFL Week 4.

We’re not including any 0-3 teams in this list. Why? Because they’re already cooked if history is any indication. Only one team has ever lost its first three games since realignment and then gone onto the postseason, so let’s consider those franchises as dead and gone.

Here are five teams which still have hope that need a victory:

5. Chicago Bears

The Bears are the only above-.500 team to crack this list. Chicago is 2-1 and coming off a pair of road wins, but the offense has looked anything but sharp to this point. Now, the Minnesota Vikings come to town with a huge divisional game on tap. If the Bears are going to surge up the standings, beating Minnesota at home would be a lift, considering they already lost a divisional game at Soldier Field to the Green Bay Packers.

4. Atlanta Falcons

At 1-2, the Falcons have to start stringing some wins together. Atlanta is coming off a tough loss on the road to the Indianapolis Colts, with the Tennessee Titans coming to Mercedes Benz Stadium. The Falcons have a real shot at winning the NFC South if they can get their blocking straightened away — along with figuring out how to get the defense to consistently perform. This is a game they need to win against an inferior team.

3. Cleveland Browns

There’s a time for calm, and there’s a time for urgency. The Browns are at the point of needing a win. At 1-2, Cleveland is by no means out of the playoff picture with a loss, but the Baltimore Ravens are on tap in Charm City. In other words, a loss would drop the Browns two games behind the Ravens, with only one game against them remaining. It’s a huge opportunity to reset the season.

2. Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles is 1-2 and somewhat reeling after losing consecutive weeks to the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans. The good news? The Chargers draw the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, who appear to be one of the worst teams in NFL history. If Miami beats Los Angeles, we know it’s all over for the Bolts. Don’t expect such an easy demise.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

Thursday night sees the Eagles visit the Packers in an NFC clash. Philadelphia has lost two straight and is dealing with a variety of injuries. If the Eagles are going to keep contact with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East, a win is a must this week.
