NFL Week 7 games: 5 teams that need to win the most

Taking a glance at the NFL Week 7 games, these five teams must pull out a victory or face a steep, uphill climb.

5. Seattle Seahawks

For Seattle, it’s time to find a way. After losing last weekend to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field, the Seahawks are 2-4 and four games back in the NFC West. While the division is likely out of range with quarterback Russell Wilson out for the foreseeable future, Seattle needs backup Geno Smith to beat the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. Huge opportunity to get back in the win column.

4. Cleveland Browns

The Browns are taking on all kinds of water. Cleveland hosts the Denver Broncos on Thursday night and will be without quarterback Baker Mayfield and running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt among others. However, the Browns might still have the better roster and are enjoying the confines of the Dawg Pound. At 3-3, Cleveland needs to get going or forget about the AFC North.

3. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City has been bizarre this season, yet to win consecutive games. The Chiefs are coming off a 31-13 win against the Washington Football Team, the first time their defense has limited an opponent to less than 29 points. Against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville this weekend, Kansas City will need to limit star running back Derrick Henry while hoping the offensive trio of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyree Hill can drive the Chiefs to victory.

2. San Francisco 49ers

The Niners are coming off their bye week and taking on the Indianapolis Colts at Levi’s Stadium. San Francisco has lost three straight since beginning the season with wins over the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. For head coach Kyle Shanahan, a loss with two weeks rest against the two-win Colts would be crushing, as it would drop San Francisco to 2-4. However, a win gives the 49ers a real shot at an NFC Wild Card spot at 3-3.

1. New England Patriots

New England has lost some close games against very good teams, specifically the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys over the past three weeks. Now, the Patriots welcome in the New York Jets, who they clobbered at MetLife Stadium back in Week 2. If New England is going to make a run at a playoff berth in the AFC, beating the Jets — who are off their bye week — is a must for head coach Bill Belichick and Co.
