Packers Coach Matt LaFleur: team has ‘one plan’ with or without Aaron Rodgers

The saga continues for the Green Bay Packers as they seem no closer to fixing the tumultuous situation with superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Although the team doesn’t know where Rodgers stands, and it seems as though he’s sticking to his guns about wanting out, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is adamant about the team’s direction moving forward. He claims they have one plan, whether with Rodgers or Jordan Love under center, to start the 2021 NFL campaign via ESPN.

“We’ll have one plan,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Thursday in his last scheduled news conference before training camp. “We’ve kind of pretty much laid that out. Just going to fine-tune some things over the next few weeks in terms of the logistics of our schedule and whatnot. We’ve got what we feel is a pretty good blueprint in terms of how to get our guys ready to play. Obviously, it is a little bit different this year in terms of the number of preseason games and then you compare it to last year, so you’re kind of leaning back on the 2019 season. We feel confident with what we’ll have in place with the guys. We’ll look forward to getting them back July 27.”

With both sides being fairly stubborn about the situation, there’s no telling how things will end up for the reigning NFL MVP. There’s a chance he is done with the Packers and won’t play another snap for the team, or retirement might be a realistic option for the one-time Super Bowl champion.

Only time will tell with the fate of the franchise and the future Hall of Famer hanging in the balance.
