Panthers sign wide receiver DJ Chark to add to offseason additions

Since the start of the offseason, the Carolina Panthers have remained one of the most active organizations.

The Panthers pushed forth to under-the-radar move by signing wide receiver DJ Chark to a one-year deal. Chark will earn $5 million fully guaranteed along with a $3.92 million signing bonus and four void years for salary cap purposes.

Chark provides another receiving threat behind his big-play ability. He’s coming off recording 30 receptions for 502 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His best campaign came in 2019, where he posted 73 catches for 1,008 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

The 26-year-old will pair alongside fellow offseason addition former Pro Bowler Adam Thielen to lead the wide receiving core. The Panthers have spent the offseason adding pieces around the quarterback position to push toward a steady and progressive rebuild.

Carolina also inked tight end Hayden Hurst to a three-year deal that will provide the incoming rookie quarterback with dependable receiving options. The Panthers hold the first overall pick in this year’s draft, which will give them the chance to bring a promising talent under center.
