Raiders newcomer Antonio Brown is building chemistry with Derek Carr

The Oakland Raiders made the major splash move with the acquisition of All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown.

This has quickly shifted the attention over to his relationship and chemistry with Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr. With that in mind, Brown has voiced that the two have been making progress toward building a strong rapport with each other, according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.

“I think it’s really growing,” he said. “Making a lot of deposits so we have a lot in the bank. Extremely grateful to be out here, to put the work in action. Show these guys what I’m about, on and off the field. It’s exciting to build that correlation and see it come to fruition right here.”

It’s important to remember that it’s still quite early in the process. Although the fact that things are progressing in the right direction is certainly a positive sign. The Raiders are hoping that these two can be the basis of the Raiders’ offensive attack, especially in the passing game.

Brown is still playing at the top of his game and is regarded as one of the best wide receivers in the league. He has a chance to continue to prove that with Oakland that will largely hinge on how things develop between himself and Carr.

The rest of the offseason and the preseason will be a prime chance for that on-field chemistry to be cultivated ahead of the 2019 campaign. In the meantime, it is a work in progress between the two prior to their first season together.
