Raiders RB Josh Jacobs wants to return to Las Vegas next season

After falling to reach the playoffs for the second straight season, the Raiders face a crucial offseason.

Las Vegas has plenty of questions concerning the status of their backfield that goes well beyond former Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr’s future. Running back Josh Jacobs is heading toward free agency after posting his best season, where he led the league with 1,653 rushing yards along with 12 rushing touchdowns.

Jacobs has been quite vocal about his disgruntlement with how the Raiders’ season unfolded, but it doesn’t appear that it has shifted him away from wanting to remain with the franchise that drafted him.

“For me, it’s got to make sense,” he said, referencing a potential new contract, meaning, dollars and cents via ESPN.

“But this is obviously where I want to be. Coming in, I remember sitting down with [defensive end] Maxx [Crosby] and all these guys and talking about the Raiders organization and the culture and wanting to be part of the change. I still feel that way so, hopefully, I’ll be back.”

Jacobs strongly desire to remain with the Raiders for the foreseeable future. However, he also wants to be paid like a top-tier running back, especially after posting the breakout campaign that saw him capture his first rushing title.
