Ravens bolster receiving corps with the addition of WR Nelson Agholor

Despite the Baltimore Ravens’ offseason focused on star quarterback Lamar Jackson’s future, the front office hasn’t stopped addressing roster needs.

The Ravens added another piece to the offensive puzzle by inking veteran wide receiver Nelson Agholor to a one-year deal for $3.25 million that can max out at $6.25 million if incentives are reached.

Baltimore will mark the four team in his first nine seasons. He spent the last two years with the New England Patriots after signing a two-year, $26 million contract.

However, his production didn’t match the lucrative pay, notching only 68 catches for 835 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 31 regular-season games. Last season, he posted 31 receptions on 53 targets for 362 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 16 contests.

Agholor could play a pivotal part in helping improve their receiving core that has struggled with production. In three out of the last four years, the Ravens ranked last in receiving yards for wide receivers.

Although Baltimore continues to add to the roster, there remains uncertainty around Jackson’s future. The franchise placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on him worth $32.4 million for the 2023 campaign.

The Ravens have until July 17 to ink him to a multi-year deal to avoid him playing on a one-year deal. However, Jackson further muddied the situation by releasing a statement on Twitter, where he voiced that he informed the organization on March 2 that he wanted a trade.

Until the Ravens clear up matters with their star quarterback, the franchise’s future ahead remains uncertain.
