Ravens QB Lamar Jackson solely focused on winning a Super Bowl

The Baltimore Ravens have put together a magical season with them pushing their way to the top of the standings. Their impressive campaign has been largely led it from second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson.

That has thrust Jackson into the forefront as the clear-cut leader for the MVP award. However, the focus is well beyond that, as anything short of winning the Super Bowl will be a disappointment, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

“I’m not even going to put that in my head, what you just said,” an animated Jackson said. “That’s the biggest goal. That’s what everyone is playing the game for. Everyone wants to get to the big dance. We’re having such a great year. That’s what we got to get to. No ifs, ands or buts about it. I’m not going to put anything else in my mind about not going.”

Jackson has continued to take that mental approach throughout the year, despite his strong play on the field. He has stayed with the team-first approach, brushing aside his own personal success as secondary to garnering the Lombardi trophy.

The Ravens are in a promising spot with a chance to secure the top overall spot in the AFC playoff picture. Meanwhile, they have become highly effective teams on both sides of the ball that has earned the label of being the Super Bowl favorite. That opportunity will be there for them in the coming weeks, which will largely hinge on the play of Jackson showing up when it counts in the playoffs.
