Cowboys coach Jason Garrett provides an update on Dak Prescott’s status
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off an impressive home win over the Los Angeles Rams, but the focus has remained on the health of Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott.
Prescott has continued to deal with nagging injuries as suffered another one during last Sunday’s game as he hurt his shoulder against the Rams. In light of that, head coach Jason Garrett has voiced that the team will take it lightly with Prescott in practice this week, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

“He just banged it up and it’s hard for him to function right now,” Garrett said, “so [I] don’t want him throwing much in practice today.”
It hasn’t just been a shoulder injury that Prescott is working his way through as he also has a fractured index finger on his right hand that has impacted his play. Star running back Ezekiel Elliott had stated on Wednesday that he can’t imagine how tough it is for his teammate to throw the ball.
The Cowboys don’t have any lingering concerns that Prescott will be able to work through the ailments and play in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s a crucial contest that could decide the NFC East division with just two weeks left.

Dallas took the first matchup earlier this season in convincing fashion. Prescott torched Philadelphia’s secondary in that contest as he completed 21-of-27 passes for 239 yards with three touchdown passes along with rushing for 30 yards with a touchdown. His play this time around will once again be indicative of how things unfold.
