Seahawks’ Pete Carroll makes it clear that he’s not considering retirement

The Seattle Seahawks aren’t going to the NFL playoffs this season. The team fell short after punching their ticket to the postseason for five straight years prior to the 2017 campaign.

As a result of the team’s struggles and the emergence of the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers in the NFC West, rumors have been swirling about head coach Pete Carroll and his potential intention to retire.

Well, in classic Carroll fashion, the coach refuted the rumors by taking to Twitter.

Following Carroll’s tweet, the Seahawk went on to lose their season finale against the division rival Arizona Cardinals, 26-24.

Although Carroll made it clear he isn’t retiring anytime soon, the future of the Seahawks franchise, however, is a concern with Seattle seemingly headed in the wrong direction. Quarterback Russell Wilson may be at the top of his game and made a case for NFL MVP this season, but the team around him is changing with the franchise’s brass needing to upgrade in many different areas.

Currently, the Rams are moving on to the postseason with a decent chance to compete for a Super Bowl title. The 49ers are pressing forward with Jimmy Garappolo leading the way as he led the team to five straight wins since becoming the team’s starting quarterback.

With these two teams on the rise and Seahawks struggling to stay afloat in terms of title contention, the odds for Seattle making the playoffs next season may not be pretty.
