Seahawks star Jamal Adams ‘deserving of everything he’s looking for’ says Bobby Wagner
Throughout the offseason, one of the underlying storylines around the Seattle Seahawks this offseason centers around star safety Jamal Adams’ contract situation.
Adams is in the fifth-year option of his rookie contract, worth roughly $9.86 million for the 2021 season. However, the Seahawks have been unable to work out a new deal with the Pro Bowler.

With Adams remaining unsigned, Seahawks star linebacker Bobby Wagner chimed in on the situation voicing that the team is lucky to have the star safety.
“He’s somebody that we were fortunate to get, fortunate to have,” Wagner said via Pro Football Talk. “And we can’t wait for him to be back out there on the field. He’s deserving of everything that he’s looking for. And we as players support him.”
There is a clear strong desire from the franchise to keep him for the long haul. It’s been the lack of any traction toward a new deal despite the two sides holding strong mutual interest.

The Seahawks unloaded a hefty haul to acquire the 25-year-old moving safety Bradley McDougald, first and third-round picks from the 2021 NFL draft, and a first-round pick in next year’s draft.
Seattle is moving toward another difficult contract situation that could potentially put the team in a tough spot. Adams holds a strong interest in staying for the long haul but would entertain another NFL home.
The Seahawks hold control of the situation, but the closer it moves to next offseason, the uncertainty will only increase. Only time will tell what will unfold in the coming weeks.
