New Seahawks CB Trevon Diggs Makes Bold Claim About NFL Comeback

The Seattle Seahawks further solidified their secondary after agreeing to a one-year deal with former Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Diggs has an opportunity not only to prove himself but also to become a key piece in elevating the Seahawks’ cornerback position.

“I’m looking to show that I’m still the best,” Diggs said Wednesday via ESPN. “I’m looking to show that I just want to win, be there for my teammates, be a great teammate and be a great player.”

The 27-year-old has plenty to prove as he attempts to recapture the top form that made him one of the league’s top young defensive backs with the Dallas Cowboys. After being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he quickly became a high-level talent, earning a first-team All-Pro nod and a Pro Bowl selection in his second season, behind a Cowboys single-season record 11 interceptions.

Diggs earned a Pro Bowl selection the following year, which helped him garner a lucrative five-year, $97 million contract extension. However, he has struggled to stay on the field over the last three seasons, playing only 22 games due to injuries, including a torn ACL in 2023 and missing six games in 2024 with the same knee.

Last season, he missed eight games because of a right knee injury and suffered a concussion during an accident that occurred at home.

The move comes shortly after the NFL announced that Terrion Arnold would be placed on the Commissioner’s list due to his ongoing legal issues. The Seahawks are still expected to sign Arnold despite the off-field uncertainty surrounding him.
