Todd Gurley defends Dan Quinn after another blown lead by the Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons still haven’t been able to get away from the epic collapse in the Super Bowl a few years ago. That defeat against the New England Patriots has left a scar on the franchise as a result. Losing big leads has become a common occurrence for Atlanta. Additionally, the pressure seems to be mounting on head coach Dan Quinn.
As it usually does, the blame is directly pointed in the head coach’s direction. Quinn has taken a lot of the blame over the years and Week 3’s collapse to the Chicago Bears was no different, but Todd Gurley felt compelled to defend his head coach, via AtlantaFalcons.com.

“We know what he means to us,” Falcons running back Todd Gurley said of Quinn. “Did not finish for him, we did not finish for each other. We did not finish for the Falcons, we did not finish for the brotherhood. This has nothing to do with him.”
The clock is ticking on this Falcons squad that has a lot of talent on both sides of the football. The team has consistently failed to live up to expectations under Quinn and a move could be made to help the team get back on the right track.

Obviously, having the support of your players is a good sign for Quinn, but results are what franchises are looking for and he hasn’t been able to provide that this season.
Only time will tell whether the Falcons brass feels it is time to move on from Quinn, but they’ve definitely got a case to do so after Week 3’s loss to a team that changed starting quarterbacks during the game.
