Sharks Sweep Canucks and Western Canada Out of the Playoffs

sharkscanucks-wrIt is a dark day in Western Canada. No Edmonton Oilers or Calgary Flames and now no more Vancouver Canucks either. They are out of the NHL Playoffs without so much as one win between the three three teams. The San Jose Sharks finished off the Canucks in OT on Tuesday night 4-3. Patrick Marleau scored all four of the Sharks goals as they will now move on to the second round.

The overtime goal was scored on a power play after a questionable penalty called on Daniel Sedin on what many thought was a shoulder to shoulder hit on Tommy Wingels, sending him into the boards head first.

The Sharks are the first team in the Western Conference to advance. They will now await the outcome of the Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues series, which is tied right now at 2-2. Game Five of that series is tonight at 9:00 EDT.

JustBet has the Kings +1.5-287 and the Blues -1.5 +234 ATS. Money line has the Kings +109 and the Blues -129. Over/Under is 4.5. We like the Kings +109 and the over -129. The Kings are the defending champs for a reason. One is, they can win on the road.

The Chicago Blackhawks are up 3-1 on the Minnesota Wild. They will have a chance to close out that series at home on Thursday night. If they can, they will met the winner of the series between the Anaheim Ducks and the Detroit Red Wings who are tied 2-2.

Game Five between the Red Wings and Ducks is tonight. JustBet has the Red Wings +1.5 -254 while the Ducks are -1.5 +214 ATS. Moneyline has the Wings +124 and the Ducks -144. The Over/Under is 5. We like the Ducks -144 at home and the under -127.
