Oakland Raiders Early Favorites In Week 4 Against Chicago Bears
There’s been a lot of optimism surrounding the Oakland Raiders this season with many believing this may be the year the struggling franchise finally turns it around. The devastating Week 1 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals seemed to be more of the same from Raiders, but the last two weeks the team has completely changed the narrative in Oakland.
Coming into the Week 3 showdown with the Cleveland Browns, the Raiders were -3.5 point underdogs. The Browns were the home team, and although in a similar stage in the rebuilding process, had the edge with home-field advantage.
Unfortunately for Cleveland, the Raiders offense is near unstoppable when firing on all cylinders. Quarterback Derek Carr has been as advertised this season and is started to get consideration as one of the most talented young gunslingers in he NFL. Carr is surrounded by plenty of other talented young players including Amari Cooper and Latavius Murray on offense and linebacker Khalil Mack leading the defense.
With two wins in three games for the Raiders to start the season, Oakland is starting to turn heads around the league with people not simply assuming the team will struggle on a weekly basis.
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Raiders are already favored to come out on top against the Chicago Bears in Week 4. Oakland is sporting a -2.5 point spread heading into Chicago and there’s a great chance they’ll cover this spread by a wide margin.
The Bears are a team in disarray once again with quarterback Jay Cutler missing the blowout loss against the Seattle Seahawks this week with a hamstring injury and star wideout Alshon Jeffery on the shelf with the same ailment.
Both of these players have a shot to play in Week 4 against the Raiders, but Oakland is clicking at this point in time and will likely take advantage of a dysfunctional Chicago squad still looking for their first win of the season.
