One Last Playoff Run for Andrew Bogut?
Andrew Bogut could be about to return to the NBA for the postseason, if reports are to be believed.
The Australian 13-year NBA veteran retired from the NBA last April after being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers. Andrew Bogut recently completed his first ever National Basketball League (NBL) season, playing for the Sydney Kings.
His season was officially ended on Sunday, when they lost to Melbourne United in the league’s semifinals. Now, the Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Andrew Bogut is on the radar of a number of playoff-bound NBA teams.
Andrew Bogut could bring valuable experience to a team in the playoffs. His one NBA title came in 2015 with the Golden State Warriors, for whom he played for four years.

According to Charania, the Golden State Warriors are one of the potential teams who could take him for the postseason. Charania tweeted:
“Multiple contenders, including Golden State and Philadelphia, are expected to express interest in upcoming free agent Andrew Bogut. His season has ended in playoffs of Australia’s NBL, where Bogut was league MVP and DPOY, and he will take some time to decide on next team.â€
This mirrors what ESPN say, that talk of an imminent NBA return is ‘premature’.
A return to the Golden State Warriors would be satisfying for both the player and the team. However, the 34 year old may be more tempted by the Philadelphia 76ers. There, he could link up with fellow Australians Ben Simmons and Jonah Bolden.
Reportedly, the Sydney Kings would not stand in the way of an NBA return, so it is up ton Bogut.

Bogut’s NBL performance suggests he still has what it takes. He won the league’s MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards on the way to the final four.
