RB Josh Jacobs ‘Fully Invested’ In Staying With Raiders

2022 was a ‘prove it’ year for Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs and he did exactly that.

Josh Jacobs heads into free agency after not having his 5th year option picked up by the Raiders. He rushed for 1,150 yards in his rookie season, but tailed off in the two following seasons.

This year, he put his injury problems behind him with an NFL-leading 1,653 yards rushing. As well as that, he set career highs yards per attempt (4.9) and rushes (340).

Josh Jacobs averaged 97.2 rushing yards per game and tied his career-high in touchdowns with 12.

There is no question he wants to stay in Vegas next year.

“I mean for me, I’ve got the Raiders seal tatted on me. It’s always something that I wanted to be a part of,” Jacobs said Thursday. “I want to give back to win and change the culture to get the winning mentality and things like that, I’m fully invested in that.

“I mean I just bought a house in Vegas, it’s definitely a place that I want to be.”

There is also a possibility he follows QB Derek Carr out of the building.

“Me and (Carr) sat down and were just like ‘Man, it’s a possibility that it could happen,'” Jacobs said. “So it’s definitely something that I’m keeping my options open with, but he’s a great dude, wherever he ends up he’s definitely going to contribute to that team in a positive way, and I’m happy for him.”
