Red Sox Versus Yankees Round 2
Nineteen innings over seven hours is how long it took the Boston Red Sox to put away the New York Yankees last night. Today, the Sox will take on the Yankees in the second game of this three-game series.
Boston is coming into the game as favorites with a -110 moneyline.
Mookie Betts hit a sacrifice fly ball to the outfield in the 19th inning, sending Xander Bogaerts over home plate to lift the Red Sox to victory, 6-5.
Boston were -105 underdogs at Yankee stadium and managed to pick up the win. With the extra innings, OVER bettors found themselves making money at the end of the game.
Both teams will return to Yankee Stadiums, as New York looks to tie up the series against their long-time rivals.
The Yankees have lost three straight games and will be looking to snap that stream with Adam Warren on the mound. Over the spring, Warren earned a spot on in the Yankees’ starting rotation by putting up a 2.70 ERA in 16 2/3 innings. This is only his fourth MLB start.
The Red Sox will counter with right-hander Joe Kelly. Kelly was on the disabled list prior to this game suffering with an injury to his right biceps during the spring. This is Kelly’s first full season with the Sox.
The TOTAL for this game sits at 8 runs. Dating back to last season, the Red Sox are 5-6 on the OVER. New York also favors OVER TOTALS. Five of their last six have also hit the OVER mark.
The game starts at 1:05 p.m. ET.
